A Note from Deacon Robert Klingman

To the wonderful community of the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

It is with great sadness that I leave Sacred Heart Parish, which has been my second home since 1997, and where I have been privileged and blessed to have been assigned to this ministry for the 5 years since my Diaconate Ordination. But the time has come for me to move on to another exciting opportunity where I will be employed as the Parish Manager and assigned as Deacon of Holy Cross Parish in Lafayette on June 1, 2017. Please accept my deepest gratitude for your kindness to me during these wonderful years. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the gift you have been to me. I have often boasted of you and the privilege to serve in this parish:

Of the unselfish nature of your service in our community,
Of the love of the Eucharist in your life and the care that is given here to liturgy and music,
Of the vibrancy of your formation programs and school,
Of the dedication of the parish staff and parishioner leadership,
Of the dedication of the parish staff and parishioner leadership,
Of the long tradition here of loving our pastors, deacons and seminarians,
Of your strong sense of community,
Of your generosity and encouragement,
Of your generosity and encouragement,
Of your gifts of hope and strength,

More than anything else, the blessing you have been to me.
I am also grateful to all the Pastors and Parochial Vicars, as well as the Sisters, Deacons and parish staff with whom I was privileged to serve. A special thanks to Father Michael Delcambre for this past year; may God be with him as he continues to pour his many gifts into this wonderful community. Please also know that you, the “Community of Sacred Heart of Jesus”, as well as the many who have gone home to God before us, will continue to be in my prayers.

To all, to God especially, thank you.
