New Associate Pastor
It is with gratitude to Bishop Deshotel that I welcome the newest member of our parish’s pastoral team. Deacon Kyle White will be ordained a priest on June 23 and join us as associate pastor on July 2, 2018. As you have welcomed me in love and gratitude I ask that you do the same. - Fr. Michael Delcambre
A letter from Dcn. White:
Dear Sacred Heart Parishioners,
It is with great joy that I join you as the newest addition to the parish family! My name is Deacon Kyle White and I will soon be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette on June 23. Even though my last name doesn’t sound very Cajun, I assure you that I was born and raised in Lafayette and I love Cajun culture! I attended Sts. Leo-Seton Elementary and Teurlings Catholic High School. I also attended ULL for 3 years before entering seminary, studying Kinesiology in hopes to one day become a Physical Therapist. However, God had different plans. Through spending much time at Our Lady of Wisdom Student Center during my college years, I eventually became incredibly aware that God was asking me to be His priest. Although this was a difficult thing to accept at first, I am now overjoyed and extremely grateful for this vocation which God has given me. I am very much looking forward to meeting you and walking together with you in pursuit of holiness. Sacred Heart parish seems to be a vibrant community and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of it. Please pray for me on June 23 (my ordination) and know that I am praying every day for you. I’ll be seeing you soon!
