Sacrament of Baptism

Three times per month on 2nd 3rd and 4th Saturdays at 10:00 AM. Classes are held bi-monthly on the first Sunday of the month for parents and godparents, preferably before the baby is born. Sacrament of Reconciliation

Saturday, 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, 20 minutes before weekday Mass or by appointment. To request a reconciliation certificate click here.

Sacrament of Confirmation

This Sacrament is normally administered to parishioners in the Junior year of high school.  Those students must have participated in our young adult religious education program.  Confirmation is also offered to any adult who has not received this Sacrament earlier.  Contact the Director of Religious Education for information dre@shbroussard.org. Sacrament of Marriage

Contact at least six months in advance to schedule appointment. The first contact is made with the pastor or with Deacon Joe Trahan. An initial visit with the couple is required before a wedding may be scheduled. Weddings are scheduled throughout the year. Weddings may take place either Friday evenings or Saturdays at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 or 2:00. There are NO Saturday evening weddings at Sacred Heart. Rehearsals are normally scheduled on the evening before the wedding.

Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament is offered to anyone in the hospital or at home who is seriously ill or anticipating surgery. Contact the church office with necessary information and a priest will visit that person.

Funeral Arrangements

The Family should contact the pastor or deacon to make arrangements. Funerals are encouraged to be held IN SACRED HEART CHURCH, rather than the Funeral Home.  The Church is the proper place for a funeral liturgy.  We will be as flexible as possible in arranging a funeral for your family’s needs.  Our parish also offers a “funeral food ministry” to all parishioners.  Refreshments and food are provided after the service in the Parish Life Center if desired.
