Worship Ministries

Adult Choir -Enhances our Liturgies through song, opportunities for parishioners to share their musical talents. Practice Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:30. Contact: Margaret Montz 365-2600 or margaretmontz@att.net

Altar Servers -This ministry serves the community by assisting the priest at the altar during liturgical celebrations. Ministry is open to both boys and girls in grades 4 and up. Contact: Jodie Migues miguesassociates@bellsouth.net

Hand Bell Choir Children of St. Cecilia School provide this music at different liturgies during the year. Contact: St. Cecilia School 837-6363

Nocturnal Adoration (Vigil of every First Friday) Commitment is made to spend time in prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration begins on Thursday evening at 8:00 P.M. and concludes with benediction on Friday at 12:00 P.M. Contact: Sr. Carm 837-1864 or carm@shbroussard.org

Ladies' Altar Society Members take real pride in their role of service to the parish. They maintain supplies used for the celebration of the Eucharist. Contact: Rose Brown 837-6851 rstjulien@bellsouth.net

Lector/Reader Proclaim the Word at Mass and other special Liturgical Functions. Training workshop is held whenever needed for all Lectors/Readers. Contact: Ann Dugas 962-0878 anndugas@bellsouth.net

Liturgy Committee Committee meets quarterly to plan for seasonal liturgies. Contact: Marty Cannon 837-3571 martyc@frankscasing.com

Prayer Committee Brings people of Sacred Heart together in prayer for the needs of fellow parishioners or anyone requested. Prayer requests are called in and passed on to other members who pray for those needs at a time of their own choosing. Contact: Clarice Vollenweider 837-6967

Rosary Group Prays Rosary as a group in church, after 8:30 A.M. Mass each Tuesday. Contact: Mildred Dishongh 837-1564

Usher/Greeter They have the opportunity to welcome individuals attending Mass and aid in seating of the congregation, collecting the offering and tidying the church after each service in preparation for the next celebration. Contact: Rod Touchet 364-3620 preez@bellsouth.net

Management and Finance Ministries

Annual Fair Committee Committee begins planning well in advance of the actual fair date. Those joining this ministry help to facilitate the overall coordination of this major parish event. Contact: Joey and Colette Anzalone 837-1864 ministries@shbroussard.org

Management and Finance Commission This commission concerns itself with the Management, Finance and Stewardship aspects of the parish. Contact: Patrice Williams 856-4964 or patrice@dugasoil.com

Stewardship Committee Responsible for the education, awareness, and teaching on the concept of Christian Stewardship. Provides information to the congregation seasonally on the various aspects of Stewardship: giving of our time, our talents and our treasure. Education Ministries

Babysitting This ministry provides babysitting for 9:00am and 11:00am Mass on Sundays. If you would like to volunteer please contact either Heather Bertrand heatherg012001@yahoo.com or Leslie Serio lserio21@yahoo.com

CCD (Teachers & Substitutes) Volunteers teach, proclaim, and witness the "good news" of God's love and mercy to children who attend Public Schools. R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) R.C.I.A. is the process of conversion for those seeking baptism in the Catholic Church or for those belonging to another Church, but wishing to become members of the Catholic Church. The program begins in October with weekly gatherings until Easter. After meeting all requirements, Candidates are usually accepted into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Outreach and Family Life Ministries

Columbian Squires  A Catholic young men's fraternal organization devoted to prayer and good works. Members must be children or grandchildren of a Knight. Contact: Chris Fruge 552-4588 or cbf080808@yahoo.com

Camelot Nursing Home Ministry Church volunteers assist in the Communion Service and Mass held every Thursday morning and also assist in bringing Communion to the rooms of those unable to come to the service. Contact:  Sacred Heart 837-1864 

Come Lord Jesus Group Meets every Thursday in people's homes. The group prays, studies and shares the following Sunday's Gospel. Contact: Joyce Melancon 837-2843

Food for Funerals Provides a cooked dish or meal for the family of a deceased parish member. Members of the parish make donations of either food or money. Contact: Martha Bozeman 984-2259, Clarence & Catherine Trahan 837-6458 or Bobbie Girouard 837-6169.

Family Promise - Interfaith Hospitality Network-St. Vincent de Paul Sacred Heart Church participates in the Family Promise program by hosting up to 4 homeless families for a week during the summer at St. Cecilia School. Contact: Sacred Heart Church 837-1864.

In-Home Marriage Preparation Program Married couples in our parish are trained to assist in offering a unique, in-home comprehensive Marriage Preparation overview to the Engaged Couples planning to get married at Sacred Heart. The team couples follow the outline given in a complete binder that touches on a variety of topics relevant to Christian Marriage. An engaged couple would meet at the home of an assigned married couple for six sessions. This is an excellent program preparing them for marriage. Contact: Fr. Knights of Columbus A Catholic fraternal organization devoted to prayer and good works. This ministry is very active in our parish; these men are involved in many other ministries. Contact: Greg Theriot grandknight@kc7557.com

Knights of Columbus Auxiliary A women's Auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus. Members must be spouse, children or grandchildren of a Knight. They are an organization devoted to prayer and good works and support all the works of the Knights. Contact: Chris Chatagnier cchatagnier@abvalve.com

Ministry to Bereaved/Widowed Members serve as facilitators between the bereaved/widowed family, the Church office, and the parish community. Members have a monthly support group, and are also able to visit and offer emotional, spiritual, and practical help to the family in their time of grief. Small Church Communities A format where small groups of parishioners meet monthly to share faith through a guided discussion and prayer. New groups always welcomed. Meets on Thursday 6:30 P.M. for Bible Study and Support. Contact: Mary Blair 837-1381 vmrac@cox.net

Wedding CoordinatorsAssists the Celebrant at the rehearsal and wedding. Two coordinators are assigned to all weddings; training is provided.  Contact: Lynette Brown 298-8042 or weddings@shbroussard.org

Social Ministries

Rebuilding Together This program is Acadiana's volunteer housing repair project for the elderly and disabled. No state or federal funds are used; the program relies on generosity of the community. Work is provided with volunteer labor from the communities. It is a one-day a year commitment for most volunteers. Contact: Colette Anzalone 837-1864 ministries@shbroussard.org

Neighborhood Evangelization (Pot Luck) Suppers - Suppers that are arranged in a neighborhood with Fr. Louie. Contact: Sister Carm 837-1864 carm@shbroussard.org

Sacred Heart Christian Care Work with the poor and needy to provide assistance to individuals and families within parish boundaries. Assists financially with medical, prescription, and utility bills and provides food items from our Food Pantry. Contact: Colette Anzalone 837-1864 ministries@shbroussard.org  

Administrative/Office Ministries

Office Volunteers Volunteers serve as receptionist, do typing, computer input, stuffing mail, or might serve as occasional receptionist. Contact: Colette Anzalone 837-1864 ministries@shbroussard.org

Maintenance Ministries

Small Repairs Volunteers perform minor painting, electrical, carpentry repairs. Contact: Pat Champagne 658-0058
